(2021) textbook. address the following… This week, you’re reading about ethical considerations in career development. It is important to note that not all issues involving ethics deserve the title “dilemma.” Kidder (1995) contends that an ethical dilemma occurs only in instances when there are competing “rights” or when there is a struggle to determine the “least bad” course of action. A code of ethics cannot guarantee ethical behavior; nor can a code of ethics resolve all ethical issues confronting career practitioners. Consider this scenario A career counselor, Martha, works in private practice setting. Martha has been working with a client who has just graduated from college and who is trying to decide what she would like to do after college graduation. She is weighing two options: (a) taking a part-time job while she applies to graduate school to earn her masters degree to become an art teacher, or (b) taking a full-time job offer as an administrative assistant in a law office. You are working with her for two sessions when her father calls you. His daughter has shared that she is seeing you for career counseling, and dad wants to know what has been discussed. He also shares that he wants you to convince her to take the job at the law office. Initial or Main Post: In your Initial Post, discuss the role of ethics as they pertain to the scenario above. Include discussion of a decision-making model, the role of values in the decision-making process, or an ethical principle that can help Martha to resolve the challenge. Conclude with the plan of action that you think Martha should take. Make sure the initial post thoroughly addresses all parts of the discussion prompt(s). Include in-text citations and a reference for the NCDA CODE OF ETHICS (at minimum) AND ANY OTHER SOURCES THAT YOU CITE IN YOUR POST in APA format (7th ed.). Create 2 Peer Response zero plagiarism
